Generated 3D parametric models and drawings for piece parts (machined and sheet metal), assemblies, and weldments for doughnut-making machines, using SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor. Created AutoCAD drawings. Interacted with manufacturing personnel to improve part designs. Designated department liaison with Inventor support. Built bills of materials, using MAPICS ERP software. Devised and documented series of spreadsheet-driven parametric Inventor parts (analogous to SolidWorks design tables) to generate models of different sizes of fasteners and lengths of raw materials. Performed technical writing for service bulletins. Trained new employees in Autodesk Inventor and Vault. Assigned CAD work to offshore workgroup and checked their drawings. Had major role in preparing database of 41,000 Inventor files for import into Autodesk Vault. Set up SharePoint database of CAD techniques for the benefit of current and future coworkers.
Prepared AutoCAD drawings, principally ducting and wiring schematics, floor plans, and microprocessor panel drawings, in HVAC environment. Created and documented improved versions of existing prototype drawings, increasing department's productivity.
Oversaw CAD laboratory. Assisted students with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, general computer use.
